Verkocht door: Rob de Boer. Omschrijving: Great writing box with a green felted incline to write your love lettre on a nice piece of parchment. Outside of solid oak with fine detailed marquetry, with the sides and insides in black Chinese lacquer. This writing cabinet was made at the beginning of the 19th century, possibly a bit earlier.
When opened, a number of different sized compartments is revealed, to keep your pens and quill feathers. Some compartments have lids, others don't. Also hidden inside is a round stick of wood, used to make a fine scroll of your parchment off course. The green felted slope opens up as well, revealing a space underneath to keep some more stuff.
The cabinet is in decent condition, but it is visibly old. Which is also a good thing with items like these. The green felt is a bit worn and the lock has been disabled because of a missing key.

When shipped, it will be wrapped thoroughly to prevent any damage.
