Verkocht door: Rob de Boer. Omschrijving: Introduced in 1981, this cube chair was an instant hit across the world. It is a design by Radboud van Beekum, manufactured by Dutch furniture makers Pastoe. The name of this model is FM60. Testament to the quality of this design, Pastoe reintroduced the chair in 2020, als to pay hommage to its creator, who sadly passed away that year.
Radboud van Beekum became famous because he knew how to combine esthetics with functionality. This chair is a prima example of his vision. It is a joy to look at in any home and it sits very comfortable. The chair was made in a number of different color versions, ranging from white to grey and black for the metal frame. For seats and back both leather and canvas was used, also in different colors.
This particular chair is a white version, with sand-colored canvas for the seat and back. It is in excellent condition, with some clear traces of use on the paint, which has remained original. Maybe it could use a fresh layer of powder coat, but keeping it original is better for now.
