Verkocht door: Rob de Boer. Omschrijving: This lamp is actually one of my all-time favorites. Which is why I have two in stock again. It is model NB100 by Dutch company Philips, famous design by Louis Kalff. Listed separately, because of differences in their condition.
This particular lamp is almost fully original. Pretty special after such long time. Only exception is the inside of the lamp shade. I resprayed this in off-white, because the old paint was showing too much wear in my opinion. The outside of the lamp shade is not perfectly, but I thought it good enough to retain the original paint here. It shows some spots which are shown clearly on the pictures.
It is almost unbelievable that this design classic by Louis Kalff was introduced in 1957. That makes it more than 60 years old, but it still looks modern today. Model NB100 is a wonderful desk lamp that combines the round forms of the wire frame with the crisp, sharp lines of the shade. This minimalist design reflects the style and optimism from the space-age era, that was about to begin when this lamp was introduced to the public.
Thanks to its clean and timeless design, this lamp fits in any contemporary interior. It is actually an affordable way to have a true museum piece in your home. It is suited for a E27 bulb, a mirror bulb is always recommened for these lamps. Also suited for both 110V and 220V grid. It is in a good vintage condition.
